25 years ago, I planted a tree at Rangsakona village, Ri-Bhoi District, Meghalaya “Rangsakona Secondary School”. After 25 years I see a picture of the tree.
It is huge and definitely thriving. There was and still, such satisfaction knowing that I have helped plant this tree.
Its permanence gives me- a small gift and grew to a beautiful tree that which others now enjoy.
“Alumnus” who have passed through these portals, in the years gone by, have made great achievements: and many of them give express thanks to the teachers who motivated them. Rangsakona Secondary school, Byrnihat does not believe in imparting ‘knowledge’ merely as ‘information’ but insists on giving value-based education, which the world needs today.
“With a fine blending of Indian tradition, especially North East and modernity, the value-based education, which the world needs today with impetus on sound character building so as to become men and women for others changing society, has made Rangsakona secondary School, Byrnihat. Some have made a mark in public life. And surely, all who passed through this school have a lot to thank this institution, for what they received from it”.
Much has done in the last 25 years and still more needs to be done in the years to come. As we celebrate our Silver Jubilee – May Almighty God be our inspiration and strength through the intercession of our dear past Managing Committee specially my father Late Fredinath D. Sangma. I am sure that this edition of our Souvenir “Glimpses” or “Nostalgia – A rewind “a record will amply support this institution’s contribution in the field of education.
