It all began at Rangsakona L.P.School building after morning class is over for L.P. students here in Rangsakona village 15th mile, Byrnihat. The school had 7 (seven) students in class IV (four) when it started in 1991. The next year the numbers of students have increased to 36. Students from nearby villages pour in as the years passed by. It was an encouragement sign indeed. In 1996 the school was shifted to the present location where four room building was constructed by M/S Associated Beverages Pvt. Ltd. Owned by Shri. Prem Goyal who took immense interest and appreciated the move. Thanks to by Shri. Prem Goyal, may Almighty God bless him over forever for his helping hand laying foundation of the first building of the school.
The Managing Committee had to struggle to run the school due to financial constraint. The village authorities tried to collect contribution @ Rs. 5/- (Rupees five) only per family of the village but did not yield result due to poor and ignorance to education. In the year 1999, the managing committee have resolve to collect a meager monthly fee of Rs.10/- (Rupees ten) only from the students to compensate financial position. I remember vividly, how hard to bring up an Educational Institution in this wilderness and to spread knowledge. Yet through bad waves and strives, Rangsakona Secondary School is now standing strong like a tree deeply rooted in the soil. I stood firm and continued to through 25 years.
It was an upper Primary till 1993 and gradually upgraded to Secondary level in 1994 and proceeded year by year to class X (ten) in 1997 and earned the status of a Secondary School. Bit by bit, brick by brick and year by year we built one or two class rooms by raising fund through “Gifts coupon” to accommodate the growing number of students. The first SSCL batch passed out successfully in the year 1998.
In the year 2000, the Managing Committee thought about foundation lacking in studies among children from regional language schools, built two kutcha rooms and started kindergarten in the same compound and attached it with Secondary School, proceeded year by year till class V. Now the school had right from Nursery till X (ten).
In trying to give our students best, we introduced the computer Education in the year 2004.The computer lab was also constructed under BRGF 2009-10 and inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Meglahaya, Shri J.D. Rymbai on 1st June, 2007.
The school couldn’t have come this far had it not been for the relentless co-operation and dedication of the parents, teachers, we are grateful and we salute you. May God shower innumerable blessings unto you and your family.
Our greatest thanksfulness goes to the Founder and the fore-runners, ours Pioneers for whose insight and vision, hard work and struggle with selfless dedication have brought us this far, Pioneers, we thank and honour you! You have left an indelible mark and your names shall never be forgotten for as long as Rangsakona Secondary School, Byrnihat remains.
Completing 25 years of service through Education does not mean that we have achieved every goal. We lack many facilities, some of which are beyond our reach. We are yet to become as good as the best schools in the state and the country. This is not the end of the road. For we have dreams to follow and miles to go. And we have this dream that in the near future, we shall be able to upgrade the school to Higher Secondary level in Arts, Science and Commerce streams. The struggles and hard work will never end. But as long as we know that what we are doing now will bring growth, development and comfort to those in future. I say with pleasure, it will worth the pain, May the young ones today become the leaders of tomorrow who would take the school to endless heights.
And to sum it up, try as we might nothing can be achieved without the guidance, wisdom and power of the Almighty who is the beginning and the end.
